Hello and thanks for reading. Today I will be starting yet another new segment. I'm doing this so I can revolve between the two when necessary. The first topic I have selected to do I think was obvious to me. So the segment will focus on missing games and other topics that revolve around a favorite game I like and ask where it is and why it isn't here yet...
Battlefront was a first and third-person game released in 2004 on PS2, Xbox, and PC with a Mac port coming later. The game was fairly well received from critics and fans alike. It would see several entries including a game on handheld. It was based around the original plot of Star Wars and featured several familiar locations. It was developed by Pandemic Studios and LucasArts. A new title is in the works and is being developed by DICE. After E3 not much word has been heard from Battlefront besides a few rumors and other bits and pieces but nothing solid, with the only true thing coming out is that more than likely Hoth (which was a favorite map of mine) will be returning.

My Hopes: I hope that DICE will take a page out of there other very successful book, Battlefield. I do hope that they simply don't re-skin Battlefield and slap a few maps together. I want to see some gorgeous graphics obviously, but I want and engaging multiplayer and that favorite word of theirs, Levolution, being put to solid use on the next title. I also want an engaging story from them. I want them to really show me whats up and give me something new. What it could possibly be about is a mystery to me but I can't wait to see what happens. I do hope that squad and teamwork are an integral part. Seeing as it is DICE I also hope the vehicles are amazing and useful.
My Fears: That the product is sloppy. I can't really think of a way it could be besides being buggy, not in line with lore, and reusing elements that were used in 2004. Same maps with no tricks and trinkets. That sort of thing. I doubt that would ever happen but hey, a man can have his fears. I also fear they may stray to far from the original lore. That they don't keep the style of gameplay that Pandemic established and that they take out my AT-AT. That crap will not fly!
Closing Thoughts: I'm ready for more. A trailer, a slice of gameplay, even just an announcement. I can't wait to see one of my top ten games being revived into the Next-Gen world. Lets see it DICE!
In Other News: The day is finally coming when Alabama takes on rival Auburn in my home state of Alabama. Saturday is Iron Bowl day and its time to face the gridiron!
Reader Question: Are you a fan of Battlefront? And if so, are you excited about the next entry? What do you want from it?
