Coming off Lego Marvel, initially you would think its a step back. Less Characters, non-original story, among other aspects. But the less characters mean each is better fleshed out, with a few exceptions like every Lego game. But like every Lego game, if you don't like the source material, the gameplay on its own will not lead to enjoyment. As a n avid reader of Tolkien however, the interpretation of the books inst limited to the movies, as characters like Tom Bombadil, as well as the waters of Mirkwood inducing sleep when you fall in them. Overall, I would recommend this game
