365/365 Day 132: Random Destruction Entry V: Almost There

No, I don't mean "almost there' in reference to this 365/365; I mean in terms of graduation. In less than three weeks, I shall be done with the prison known as high school, and I will be moving on to bigger and better places. That means a lot of things are going to happen. Mainly, I'll have a lot more free time on my hands, which means more time for gaming, and writing. I haven't gotten to play a lot of things this year, due to the end of school and all the blogging (and all the Persona...), so summer will hopefully be filled with more games, and thus more impressions and/or reviews for various games.

This counts as destruction, right?

If yesterday wasn't an indicator, I'm also planning on branching out a little bit to do things besides just talk about games. Specifically, I do want to get into a few animes, mainly Akuma no Riddle and the 5pb series (Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, and all that semicolon stuff). I doubt I'll do anything like weekly reviews of episodes, but impressions of blocks of episodes is a possibility. I almost started watching Steins;Gate today, but I decided I should go with Chaos;Head first and then the other series. I probably won't go into any other territory than anime, because I'm not a TV person and the last time I went to the movies was about...three years ago? I don't know; point is, I'm just sticking with what I'm comfortable with for now.

One blog I am doing in the next week is going to be pretty big, and I'm really anticipating writing it. In my Psychology class, we've been assigned to do a project on how something from pop culture relates to one of the topics we learned about this year, and when I heard this, I immediately knew what I was doing; Persona! The series is based on the teachings of the Neo-Freudian Carl Jung! Persona 4 Golden contains a series of lectures on Carl Jung, Personas, Shadows, and other impertinent topics associated with the series. I'm probably going to get some stares and confused looks, but hey, I love the games. Hopefully this scene won't be considered too violent to show in class...

Let's see...what else did I have to say...well, to be honest, I can't really think of anything else that I wanted to share for this mini update...ummm...well, I guess in a couple weeks, my original story/fanfiction will finally have started. I'm actually really excited to write that, too...even though I need to work out several final details still. I guess my problem with writing creatively is that I can't connect the beginning to the middle; that's sort of my problem with The Last of the Pipos. I've wanted to share the ideas for how OverBlood and The Last of Us overlap, but stringing it all together is tough. With really each creative story I've tried to do, the beginning has been a bit off, and then I'd have a hard time getting to the action that was my original focus. Hopefully with this new story that doesn't happen, as there are a lot of awesome ideas I have in store for it.

On Twitter a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned doing a third The Wonderful 101, and I do have a partial list drawn up, but I think that it'll come out sometime in the summer. The list right is mainly composed of Persona 3 and Scott Pilgrim characters, which is about a third of what I need overall. That could happen before then, but I'm still going to be busy for these next couple of weeks in preparation for the end of high school, so I don't know if that'll happen.

Race to E3!

Something I am really happy about is that this will be the first year ever that I get to watch Nintendo's E3 press conference LIVE! In previous years I had to check the internet after a day of school to see all the goodies that had been announced, but now, no more! I've gotten to see EA's, Sony's, and Ubisoft's on time pretty much each year, but it'll be nice to finally do so with Nintendo's as well. Since Smash Bros. is going to be demoed around the US as well, I will probably see if I can venture to a Best Buy one day to check out the demo and give my impressions of the game. Sure, pretty much all of us who can will probably want to do the same, but I've got to be able to join in on the fun, right?

Aside from that, I really can't believe that we're less than three weeks away from Mario Kart 8. In fact, it's almost two weeks away. I'm so, so excited to finally have a new set of courses to play on! Plus, after the awful taste Mario Kart 7 left in my mouth, I'm happy to be playing on a console again, instead of with the weird 3DS controls. I don't know why, but I hated using the 3DS for Mario Kart. That never happened with any other game; there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, but I hated playing that game. Whatever the case, I'm really pumped to destroy my brothers again...they will eat my dust.

If I can get a creative streak this week, this may be the last Random Destruction for awhile, which would be a nice break. Summer is just around the corner, and mine looks to be filled with words, games, and more words! That's all the randomness that's coming out of my head today; see you all tomorrow!

Peace.
