So recently, there have not been a ton of games flooding the gates of "Next-Gen" but as each comes out there's obviously a flood of news and hype about them . . . except in the case of the just released "Bound By Flame."
So naturally, my curiosity kicks in and I take off to the lesser-visited gaming sites, fueled by the over-abundance of ads and their reviews always touted front page quality and day-one published to combat the common publish delay of juggernaut reviewer-sites like the one we're on! I found a mixed bag of excitement for this story-deep RPG infusing Dragon Ageand Dark Souls into an indie-action release and then found a lot of hate for its similarities to the aforementioned games. This game, to me, looks decent enough to give it a try yet it is astonishingly quiet and behind the scenes after being released just a few days ago.
Now I'm left with confusion that perhaps, in the eyes of game news sites, all games are not created equal. Would we argue we want to know the same about this Indie Action RPG as the long delayed Watch Dogs? Or by the mere fact that it is considered kind of a flop do we expect to hear little more than "_____ game came out! Buy it, maybe!" I feel left out of the loop on this game and wish I knew enough to tell me if it is worth a play through / trade-in on the weekend it releases but instead we see recycled news of the top-dog publishers and this poor little possible cult-hit falls lonely by the wayside.
Two questions : should we receive the same coverage of these smaller releases as the big timers? Has anyone played/enjoyed/hated Bound by Flame and can fill me in on first-hand experience?
