Autobirds and Deceptihogs? When I first heard that a Transformers Angry Birds video game was announced, I thought two things. One, this has got to be a joke. When you blogger found out it was not a joke and was a real game, I thought this was one of the weirdest crossovers ever.
There is one thing I would like to say right now about me, I think in my opinion all crossovers are weird when they are first announced. I though the same thing with Angry Birds Star Wars but it ended up being one of my favorite Angry Birds games as well as the best mobile game, until it was beaten by it's sequel. I'm hoping that that happens with Angry Birds Transformers.
A little background: I love both Angry Birds and Transformers, specifically Transformers. I grew up with the franchise as a little kid, and continue to love it to this day. I started playing Angry Birds a year or so ago and was hooked so much that ended up buying the original, Space, Seasons, Rio, both Star Wars crossovers, and Bad Piggies. However, despite my love of both franchises, in my opinion they don't go together.
That opinion can and most likely will change, and once again a similar reaction I felt when Angry Birds Star Wars was announced. However, there is a big difference in my opinion. The Star Wars crossovers designs for the game (specifically it's characters) actually fit well for me into the Angry Birds universe. As for Transformers, it doesn't fit as well in my opinion.
The designs are very weird in my opinion, but it's a promising title. The idea of the ability to transform from robot to car/plane/whatever the heck they transform to can make a very interesting possible game mechanic. When the game is eventually released, I hope it can be just as good as Angry Birds Star Wars was...or better.
