This blog pays tributes to the games and series that most of us would have laughed in there face about and said you can't make a game out of that. These developers though proved the world wrong and visualized there goal making these titles some of the most successful games out there. This of course is my top five list feel free to make your own or leave comments below on games you would add to the list lets get started.

Mario Party- You can hate this all you want but there is no denying the cultural impact this game has had on the world since it has now had nine installments and a DS and Gameboy Advance version. Many developers have tried to replicate its success, some have succeed others have failed. What makes these games so popular who knows. If you were to have told me that you were going to create a board game using Mario characters I would have laughed in your face and said you were stupid. As much as you hate the games though these concepts actually work. Take a board game and add addicting mini games to it. Perhaps its the concept of a game that plays like a board game that makes it popular, Its a game that children and adults can sit down and figure out without having an advanced learning curve. Its stands as a point that Mario Party does what Nintendo does best and that is make family oriented games that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

4. Super Smash Bros.- Super Smash Bros. first came to the spotlight for the Nintendo 64, Since then it has become one of Nintendo main system sellers, spawning 3 sequels and a handheld version for the 3DS. Its not a surprise this game is so popular a mash up brawl between your favorite characters. since then The series has added familiar faces, such as Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid franchise, to Mega Man being announced in the roster of the upcoming game. Usually mash ups end up being horrible, but Nintendo was able to pull it off by bring something unique to each character abilities and specials that fit them, paying detailed attention to why we love these characters in the first place. Super Smash Bros. stands as a triumphant success in a horde of other cross overs and mashups where others have failed.

3. Dissidia Final Fantasy- Another Mash up game between Final Fantasy characters and villains. Though its story is not its strongest point this title was successful spawning a sequel. It was the first time in franchise history that we saw characters from each game come together and fight. What makes this game so fun, isn't its gameplay, or its fighting, though it is fun to see Squall mash up against Cloud and Sephiroth, It's its detailed fan service to the game created to celebrate 20 years of Final Fantasy Dissidia delivered, music, costumes, stages, and hidden elements that veteran players of Final Fantasy could pick up on. That's what I enjoyed most about this game. Not its story, not it's concept, tough fun, but it's loyal love letter to the entire series that is where Dissida shines.

2. Lego Games- come on people this is about the stupidest idea perhaps ever spawned, seriously, lego spawned off of your favorite movies and superheroes, all with quirky Lego humor. Oddly it actually works and that's what makes these games so enjoyable. fans of games, movies, and lego fans can all enjoy these games. It comes packed with references to Metal Gear Solid to Assassin's Creed. to cameos from other movies. This Franchise is actually really fun, and to be completely honest they are some of the best platform games out there of this gen. The fan service and the hours of collectiables is where this game shines. I love these games I want to have the sitting around my house so my children can play them. I'm not ashamed to admit that I enjoy playing these titles. great family oriented games for people of all ages.

1. Kingdom Hearts- Mirror Mirror of them all whats the craziest of them all. Seriously though, this idea seems really stupid and you can't help but wonder the fact why its so popular. A cross over game between Final Fantasy and Disney, the fact why this game is so popular is just as weird as the concept itself. Perhaps its the story and the fact that at the time of the first game (released in 2002) Square was a very trusted name in the gaming company. Square had shot down the idea multiple times, when Nomura had pitched it back on the SNES. Disney almost canned the project, because they didn't like the direction that the story was taking. It sold like hot cakes maybe it was because you had parents buying it for there children cause it was so kid friendly. Perhaps it was because you had many people who enjoy square as a company and RPG's in general. You seem to have an abundance of pre teen girls who are fans of the series. I'm not and I love it, I'm there day one release of every game. I've played and beat every game its become my second favorite series right below Final Fantasy. My observations as to why this game is so good, is how easily its story can incorporate worlds into its story, how its story revolves around all these different worlds being consumed by a darkness, ninety percent of Disney moves are filled with Dark villains in it for there own personal gain. It's gameplay is constantly changing with each new installment. Though its criticized for its convoluted story, its also praised for the same reason. All I know is that its taken two of my favorite things in the world and combine them together. Hate it or love it you can't deny that Kingdom Hearts has become one of the most popular franchises in all the world. Square should listen to Nomura he seems to know what he is doing. He's got figured what game making is all about, risks, taking chances, and pursuing your dreams  Kingdom Hearts makes the list just because its down right fun, and one of the best if not the best gaming franchise ever created.
