Brought to you by:

"Patriots fans.  I imagine this how they're feeling after last night's game."

Welcome back to another week of GIO fantasy football action.  We're four weeks in, and it's looking like things have the potential to be as tight as they were last season.  Even with one 4-0 team left, as well as an 0-4, if there's anything last season taught, is to never expect the first four weeks to speak for how your entire season will go.  At least I think so, but that's because I started out 4-0 and wound up losing 4 out of my next 5 games.  So teams that are doing great, be warned, and teams that are down in the dumps, chin up, because you never know how the crapshoot that is fantasy football will wind up working out.

Anyway, much like this past week of NFL action itself, the week in GIOFFL action produced its fair share of convincing wins and painful losses.  Without further ado, here's the....

Game Informer Online Fantasy Football Week 4 Scoreboard

Ohio Pipos Raiders 49-Best Team On The Citadel 87

Starting off our week, and winning two straight is Best Team On The Citadel, knocking off the formerly undefeated Ohio Pipos Raiders, 87-49.  The Ohio Pipos Raiders owner seems to have mailed it in, leaving three players who had bye weeks on the starting roster, but even so,  there's wasn't much help from the bench, and they would've lost anyway.  Scoring the most in the Pipos Raiders loss were Dez Bryant (10 pts), Delanie Walker (14 pts), and the Texans defense (13 pts).  Winning the game and moving Chris Mrkvicka's team to 2-2 were Colin Kaepernick (19 pts), Jamaal Charles (28 pts), and Adam Vinatieri (11 pts).

It's a championship rematch next week, as Best Team On The Citadel take on my Cerpin Taxmen. Meanwhile, the Ohio Pipos Raiders face The God of Wine.

Koopa Keep Crab People 88-Cerpin Taxmen 123

Where last week was a come from behind victory surprising even to me, this week was an assured victory almost from the moment the action started on Sunday, as my Cerpin Taxmen handled the Koopa Keep Crab People, 123 to 88.  Though I had a lot of favorable match-ups, I didn't expect my team to have over 70 points before halftime of most of the games on Sunday.  And to think, I was regretting not signing Eli Manning (who, last I checked, had 32 pts after the Giants embarassed the Redskins Thursday).  Anyway, getting me my second straight win were Tony Romo with 24 points, Trent Richardson with a surprising 15, Alshon Jeffery with 10, Antonio Brown and Steve Smith with 25 each, and the Dolphins defense rounding it out with 17 points.  Aaron Rodgers (28 pts), DeMarco Murray (26 pts), and Keenan Allen and Martellus Bennet (13 pts for both) were the top scorers for Dornholio's team in their loss, the Panthers defense (-8 pts) not helping much.

The Koopa Keep Crab People defend the fort against the visiting Riften Ransackers in Week 5.

Riften Ransackers 87-The God of Wine 89

After being the lowest scoring team last week, Odizzle's Riften Ransackers looked like they were going to bounce back with a win against The God of Wine on Sunday.  However, much like my team against his last week, thegodofwine7's crew came out of nowhere to knock the Ransackers to their second straight loss, beating them in a close one, 89-87.  The top scorers in the Ransackers losing effort were Matt Stafford (25 pts), Lamar Miller (16 pts), Kelvin Benjamin (13 pts), and the Chargers defense (10 pts).  Getting the win and narrowly avoiding a drop to 2-2 for The God of Wine were Drew Brees (19 pts, pretty much the reason for the comeback), Doug Martin (11 pts), Victor Cruz (10 pts),  Jimmy Graham (12 pts), and Dan Bailey (10 pts).

Cobra Unit 75-Baltimore Ladybugs 73

In yet another close game, and arguably the most shocking win this week, Supersnake's Cobra Unit upset TOGNick's Baltimore Ladybugs, 75 to 73.  His team may not be scoring much, but this is the second straight week Supersnake's guys have won a nail biter, and they now improve to 2-2.  On the other side of the ball, the Ladybugs now drop to 3-1, Jay Cutler (16 pts), Alfred Morris (14 pts), and DeAndre Hopkins (12 pts) not doing enough to prevent the loss.  What's even more surprising about the Cobra Unit win is that the only noteworthy players who scored significantly were Ryan Fitzpatrick with 11 points and Larry Donnell with 23.  It would've been a much more decisive win if Joe Flacco (25 pts) had been at QB, but I guess that goes to show a supporting cast can do enough to win you a game.

Cobra Unit are the home team against the Malkuth Markiplites in the fifth week, while the Baltimore Ladybugs face off against The Last of Us (Or Bradford).

Neverwinter Knights 70-The Last of Us (Or Bradford) 90

Though things were looking grim after the Thursday night beatdown (Saturday Morning Replay being one of the poor s.o.b's that started Kirk Cousins at quarterback), yet again The Last of Us (Or Bradford) continue their surprising undefeated start, taking down Eric Watson's Neverwinter Knights, 90-70.  Things just simply didn't roll the Knights' way this week, as with five players still left to play on Sunday and Monday night, it was looking as if Eric's team could snatch victory away from TLoU(OB), who had nobody left to play after the earlier Sunday action.  It was not to be, as the players he had left pretty much did close to nothing, with the Patriots defense (-4 pts) especially hurting here.  Andrew Luck (29 pts), Matt Forte (16 pts), and Le'Veon Bell (10 pts) lead in scoring for the Neverwinter Knights.  Meanwhile, despite a certain Redskins back up's abysmal performance against my Giants, Lorenzo Taliaferro (11 pts), Randall Cobb (23 pts), Torrey Smith (11 pts), and Blair Walsh (17 pts) move Saturday Morning Replay's team to 4-0.

The Neverwinter Knights take on Project Mayhem next week.

Project Mayhem 142-Malkuth Markiplites 73

Dropping to 0-4 in a most painful way, attackcobra's Malkuth Markiplites got absolutely slaughtered this week, getting blown out by almost seventy points by the formerly winless Project Mayhem, 142-73.  Project Mayhem had one of those odd games where every starter managed to score in double digits, and with that alone, attackcobra's team, who has kept their games close up until this week, really had no chance.  Scoring leaders in the Markiplites loss were Roddy White (13 pts), Eddie Royal (22 pts), and Eddie Lacy (11 pts).  Showing a rare team muscle in their win, Matt Ryan (19 pts), Frank Gore and Jordy Nelson (22 pts each), Ahmad Bradshaw (11 pts), Reggie Wayne (17 pts), Travis Kelce and Nick Novak (15 pts), T.Y. Hilton (10 pts), and finally the 49ers defense (11 pts), the entire starting lineup, won the game for Project Mayhem.  Absolutely ridiculous.

*No scores final until Saturday, and are subject to change.*

"I know the Giants didn't beat the Patriots, but I won't pass up a chance to taunt them regardless."

That'll wrap up this week.  As usual, I hope you guys enjoyed reading it.  Remember to be on the lookout every Tuesday, and I'll see you next week!

P.S. Don't mind the set-up change.  I've been having to post my stuff on Google Chrome lately, and it screwed up something when I after I pasted everything into the "Paste from Word" function.  Hope to resolve the issue next week.
