Atlus says that Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is an attempt to create a convenient entry point in the dungeon crawling franchise for new players, and they will get that chance this fall on the Nintendo 3DS.
The game comes out on October 1 in stores and on the Nintendo eShop for $39.99.
Millennium Girl offers a more fleshed-out story thanks to a fixed five-character party, and more dialog and animated cutscenes. New players will also be helped by a fast travel system, while vets can enjoy the game with more traditional gameplay but with 3D graphics.

Our Take
Not having played the game, I like this philosophy to "remaking" a game; filling in gaps from the first release in order to make the product actually better instead of just including some extras.
