Hey there, guys and gals! It's been a fair bit since I've posted, as opposed to my former activity which was almost daily! I've been super busy with college and work, but I've also stepped out to a new venture. As you can see, my picture and banner are unified under the new BNP Gaming logo, which is the new independent developer that I'm starting up! I want to give a huge shout out to Jonathan Harrison for creating these logos for me! I also want to give a huge shout out to Saint, and every other supportive member of the GIO community!
Anyway, as I said, and as the title indicates, this is about our ventures into making BNP Gaming a respected indie developer. So far, we've already pitched our game idea to a few people, who have all been very ecstatic about the project! If you like BNP Gaming on Facebook or follow us on Twitter, you can see our hints about what lies behind the project code name!
After pitching the idea, we finally finished our working plot, and began filling in dialogue. The overworld map is largely complete, with cities being added to the game next week, and dungeons hopefully the week after. After that, we will begin implementing the story into the game, giving life to the world we are creating.
If I've learned anything about making video games through this process, it's that playing video games is more fun, but creating something that is unique and personal to you is infinitely more satisfying. My team and I are very passionate about this project, and we hope that we'll not only attract gamers, but also attract people that wouldn't normally play games. We hope to achieve that by making our game a parody of one of Shakespeare's most famous works, and after talking to old associates from college, and even former high school teachers, they all seem ecstatic, and told me to keep them updated on our progress!
So what can you expect from BNP Gaming? Well, we're hoping to announce our first full-length project in the next four to six weeks, and after that, we're projecting a completion date of May 2015, and a release in August 2015. This game will not only have a main story, but also side quests, and multiple dungeons for adventurers to advance through! What's better is that if you enjoy the nostalgia associated with the original Final Fantasy games, you'll feel right at home with the look and feel of our game!
Also, if you head over to our website, www.bnpgaming.wordpress.com, you can fill out a comment for us to read about what you'd like to see from us! If you have an idea for a game that you'd like to see us do, e-mail us at bitsnpixelsgaming@yahoo.com
I will begin doing a weekly blog on this subject, and hopefully as we progress it will be more coherent and exciting! If you're interested in what we're doing, or just want to show support to an indie developer that has been formed by the graciousness of the GIO community, head on over to BNP Gaming on Facebook or @bitsnpixelsinc if you're on Twitter!
God bless, rock on, and may the Force be with you!
P.S. I hope you enjoyed my trolling with the "picture" at the top of the page ;)
