Hey guys and gals of Game Informer! Your favorite assassin here with a new blog and it's continuation of a previous blog. I've decided to make this into a series of sorts. With college coming up next month, I've decided that I needed to improve my writing skills and what better way to do it with a blog on Game Informer. Let's get started on this.
NOTE: There will be spoilers.
3. The Conversation between Lee and the Stranger (The Walking Dead: The Video Game)
The Walking Dead video game is one of my favorites in history. I just can't get enough of this game and its awesome story. One of the best parts of the story is when you finally meet the Stranger. He abducted Clem and you finally caught up with him. He holds you to gun point and tells you to sit down. This starts the conversation between these two. This man that you hate with all your guts tells you his story. It's at this moment you feel sympathy for him. He tells you how he lost his family and how the supplies that you found in episode two were actually his.
The conversation starts calmly enough but soon gets heated. He confronts you about your decisions up to this point. I defended myself against his accusations because in my opinion he would not have done better. He asked me about the cannibals in episode two and I firmly told him he would have not done better. I didn't care what he had to say anymore since I(Lee) was running out of time. The part that stood out the most was when the Stranger starts talking to his bag which had the head of his undead wife. It was at this moment that I knew that he was the worse option for Clementine's future and I had stopped this man from taking Clem.
2. Escape from the Pillar of Autumn (Halo: Combat Evolve)
The Halo series is my favorite first person shooter series. Yes there are games with a better storyline but Halo was one of the first FPS games that I've ever played. That said I love playing the campaign over and over again. The main reason was when I was younger I never had online for my Xbox 360. I also never had an Xbox so I played Halo on that instead. I would replay games like this for fun trying to beat it as fast as I could.
With Halo, my favorite level was the Maw. I had to fight through hoards of Covenant and Flood enemies trying to blow up the Pillar of Autumn's engine. With that done, I had to escape. This was always my favorite part of the game. I had a time limit and I had to get out of there FAST! With Cortana guiding me, we were able to escape the destruction of Halo.
1. Refusing to give the Collector Base to the Illusive Man (Mass Effect 2)
The Mass Effect series is one of my all time favorite series. I read the books except for newest since I heard it was terrible. That said as a big fan of the series, I felt the Mass Effect 2 is the weakest. I was never really into it as the other two. That said it's still one of my favorite games. The characters were amazing and had great backstories. Garrus became a badass and Mordin was the greatest Salarian singer I have ever heard. I learn the Geth were not organic hating machines but rather, and intelligent species.
To be honest, I never really like working for Cerberus. It might be because I usually play as paragon and I believe the ends don't justify the means, something they don't believe in. So when I had a chance to say no to the Illusive Man, I took. I knew he what he really wanted. He wanted to make Humanity the dominant power in the galaxy. I knew the technology in this base could help fight the Reapers but I was confident that we could win without it. With the Illusive man yelling at me, I turned my back and set the charge. Then some awesome music came on and I escape the exploding base, preparing for the Reaper invasion.
Anyway guys that's my blog! I hope you guys enjoyed it too and since you're here, leave a comment about your favorite moments in video games. I plan on doing more of these and I greatly appreciate your feedback. Hope you guys have a great day and see you around!
